What is pain? Really, I know it is a simple word to understand but what is the molecular makeup of it? Well let’s see what the dictionary says.
Pain- It is a physical or mental suffering or discomfort caused by illness or injury.
Alright so what is suffering and illness?
Suffering- experience or be subjected to something bad or unpleasant.
Illness- a disease or period of sickness affecting the body or mind.
Wait did you catch that? Did you catch that suffering can be a choice and illness can be a disease that affects the mind? From understanding this I finally realized that liked pain because I would let it fester within my spirit and mind. Just like a disease I would let it grow and grow to the point that I became sick, lathergic (tired), and beat up. When you think about it, it’s like saying cancer stay in me, keep me sick, keep me down, I don’t want you to leave yet. Fact of the matter, we need to stop our cancers and start our cures.
So what is the cure? It is one word. Do you now what it is? It’s TRUTH!!! When we start living our lives truthful about God, ourselves, and others we can be free from our disease. As it was written in John 8:32,
And you will know the truth, and the truth shall set you free.
It is important that we must understand our pain is not ours. We need to give our pain to God not upon ourselves or others.
Repent, then, and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped out, that times of refreshing may come from the Lord.
Acts 3:19
When we repent God gives us our cure, our freedom, his love. We are to live free and to live life in love not in our pain!
